Bernice Henson

Bernice Adeline Henson, 87, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was born on August 7, 1924 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Ray Edward McCollum and Bertha (Behinke) McCollum. She married Louis Henson, who preceded her in death in 2004. Bernice was a member of the Spavinaw United Methodist Church and enjoyed being involved with the Ladies Group, Sassy Seniors. She worked with her husband, Louis at the Spavinaw Post Office for many years. Bernice enjoyed reading and working in her flowers. She was a lovely lady who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Spavinaw United Methodist Church with Reverend Doyle Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery with Jim Jackson, Terry Landrum, Cristan Landrum, Bo Byers, Brian Haggard and Dean Spencer serving as casket bearers. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Doughten of Purcell, OK, Judy Landrum and husband Terrill of Jay, OK, Barbara and husband, Jim Jackson of Claremore, OK; brothers, Charles McCollum of Illinois and James McCollum of Florida; her grandchildren, Stephanie Spencer, Vanessa Byers, Cristan Landrum and Jayme Haggard; great grandchildren, Kaytie, Lauren, Abigail, Ava Grace, Asa Jack, Hutch Allen, Jaycee and Koree; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Henson; one brother, Raymond McCollum; one grandson, Jayson Jackson.
