Addie Earlene Herd, 93, of Pryor, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019 in Claremore. She was born on April 9, 1926 in Pryor, Oklahoma; the daughter of John Earl and Sarah (Bowman) Mozingo. She grew up around the Salina area and attended Salina Schools. Earlene worked in the home most of her life, raising her children. She married Thomas Herd on May 14, 1998 in Arkansas. She and Tom enjoyed attending church services at First Baptist Church in Salina. Earlene also looked forward to going crappie fishing, tending to her rose bushes, and cooking. She especially loved lemon meringue pies. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother who leaves behind many memories for her family to cherish.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2019 in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Eric Troyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Earlene is survived by his sons, Richard Gates and wife Jacqueline of Lepeer, Michigan and Ron Gates and wife Patty of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers, George Mozingo of Kenwood, Oklahoma, Bob Mozingo and wife Becky of Pryor, Oklahoma and John Mozingo and wife Joy Sue of Pryor, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Burt, Rex, Keith, Heather, Caleb, Michaela, and Aaron; 9 great grandchildren; step brothers, Dan Herd of Olympia, Washington and Tyler Herd of Olympia, Washington; step daughters, Bonny Littlefield of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Teddie Hennington of Claremore, Oklahoma and Cynthia Dunnagan of Centralia, Washington; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Earl and Sarah Mozingo and husband, Thomas Herd. Three sisters, Eliza Thomas, Mary Gifford and Betty Haley., one brother, Virgil Lee.
