Alfred Hagar

Alfred "AL" Leroy Hagar, 77, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at his home in Chouteau. He was born on July 5, 1935 in Mazie, Oklahoma, the son of Floyd Hagar and Mary (Hennigh) Hagar. Al retired from Georgia Pacific as Maintenance Supervisor. He married Thelma Greenway on July 20, 1996 in Chouteau, Oklahoma. Al enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He also enjoyed horse racing and playing golf with his friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be so very missed. Funeral Services for Al will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Chouteau, with Becky Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Chouteau West Cemetery with Charley Dale, Danny Mallow, Paul Marty, Stanley Lee, Phil Trundle, Bucky Nave, Gene Gage and Steve Proctor serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers are B. D. Littlefield, Bob Thomas, Dale Ward, Bob Sellers, Bud Miller and Charley Graves. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Hagar of the home; sons, Rick and wife, Chantele Hagar of Tulsa, OK and Tim and wife, Kay Hagar of Roswell, GA; daughter, Vicki and husband, Steve Rockey of Chouteau, OK; sisters, Virginia Atchley of Coweta, OK, Dorothy Wassom of Chouteau, OK and Leona Cole of Mazie, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; many other relatives and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Corinne Hagar in 1991; one sister, Margarete Sly and one brother, Bob Hagar.
