Alfred Morehead

Alfred "Larry" Morehead, 67, of Pryor, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at his home in Pryor. He was born on January 30, 1948 in Pryor, Oklahoma; the son of Alfred "Buck" and Mildred Morehead. After high school, Larry entered into the United States Army and faithfully served his country from September 13, 1967 until December 12, 1969. Larry worked as a self employed carpet layer most of his life. When he wasn't working, he looked forward to spending time outdoors. Larry loved to hunt and fish. Most of all, Larry was proud of his children and grandchildren. He always enjoyed spending each moment he had with them and attending all the events they had going on in their lives. He leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Larry will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Derek Melton officiating. Burial will be in the Hogan Cemetery with Bryan Morehead, Bo Morehead, Joshua "Buck" Morehead, James Morehead, Larry David Gregory, and Jessie Muhlhauser serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearer will be Benny Shrum. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Larry is survived by his sons, Larry David Gregory of Conroe, Texas, Bryan Keith Morehead of Pryor, Oklahoma and Bo Franklin Morehead and wife Lindey of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Laura Muhlhauser and husband Jessie of Chouteau, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mildred Morehead and paternal and maternal grandparents.
