Alfreda Gail (Blackbear) Shockey

Alfreda Gail Shockey, 66, of Pryor, passed from this life on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Tulsa. Born in Claremore on July 12, 1956, she was the daughter of Runaway Blackbear and Betsy Byrd. She was well known for being a great mother to her two sons, Jason and Joshua. Some other wonderful qualities she carried were being selfless, determined, positive, and giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. Friends and family always came first to Alfreda and she was often the light in the room. She leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2023, in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Pigeon officiating. No visitation will be held. She is survived by her sons, Jason Shockey and Ashley of Tulsa, OK, and Joshua Shockey and wife Lisa of Adair, OK; brothers, Dexter Blackbear and wife Sue of Rose, OK, Tim Blackbear of Tulsa, OK, and Indian Martin and wife Casey of Tulsa, OK; sister, Patsy Ann Byrd of Pryor, OK; granddaughter, Bethany Fry and Ryan Shenefelt of Killeen, TX; and one great grandson, Jaxon Scott Shenefelt of Killeen, TX. She is preceded in death by her mother, Betsy Byrd; sister, Ramona Blackbear; and brother, James Blackbear.
