Alvina

Alvina Lucille Fouts, 91, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on December 18, 1921 in Alfred, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Ernestine Henne. She married Bill Fouts, making a wonderful life together, raising their four children. Alvina graduated from Jamestown College in North Dakota earning her Bachelor's Degree in Teaching. She worked for the City of Tulsa as a Librarian. She was the family history collector and also enjoyed reading, book collecting and crocheting. Alvina was a member of the Genealogy Society of Tulsa. She hosted a program on KRMG Radio called Ask Alvina in the 1970's. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who leaves wonderful memories for each to cherish. Funeral Services for Alvina will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerold Pilant officiating. Interment will follow in the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery next to her husband. Casket bearers are Shane Crider, Taylor Fouts, Spencer Fouts, Jack Fouts, Monty Fouts and Gene Crider. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday. The family asks that memorials be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice; Make A Wish Foundation or Therapetics-Service Dogs of Oklahoma in her memory. She is survived by her children, Monty Fouts of Fort Worth, TX, Jack Fouts and wife, Nancy of Dayton, OH, Penny Crider and husband, Gene of Tulsa, OK and Gail Carlo and husband, Walter of Fairbanks, AK; her brother, Burnett Henne of Arizona; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ernestine Henne; her husband, Bill Fouts and her sister, Vivian.
