Andrew “Andy” Jackson Floyd, III, 72, of Tulsa, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at his home. Andy was born on January 11, 1951, inTulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Andrew Jackson Floyd II and Margaret (Bates) Floyd. He graduated from the Oklahoma Military Academy in 1969. Andy was proud of his Military Academy Heritage and his time spent there. He was an Oklahoma Military academy alumnus. He married Glenda Martin on June 30, 1973 at Christ the King in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were blessed with twin girls and two sons. Andy was known as a happy-go-lucky jokester. He loved people and loved to make them laugh, he never met a stranger. Andy enjoyed his music, red beer, and cigars. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and loved going to the lake with his siblings when he was younger driving the ski boat for them and their families. He was a devoted son, and visited his mother every Friday without fail. Out of all the careers Andy had he spent over 30 years with Mike's vending. Mike Smith and his family and staff were like a 2nd family to Andy and his family. Andy devoted over 20 years as a care taker to the Mayes-Martin cemetery. He was a proud grandfather of nine and loved every minute he was able to spend with each one of his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Shipman’s Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dustin Evans officiating. Andy is survived by his wife, Glenda Floyd of Tulsa, OK; his mother, Margaret Floyd of Tulsa, OK; his son, Andrew Jackson Floyd IV of Adair, OK; his daughter, Jodie Floyd of Adair, OK; his brothers, David and wife, Brenda Floyd of Knoxville, TN and Bill Floyd and wife, Dianne of Tulsa, OK; his sisters, Mary Lou Dicks of Tulsa, OK and Ellen Floyd of Eufaula, OK; nine grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Jackson Floyd II; his daughter, Jamie Floyd; his son Curtis Floyd; and three brothers-in-law.
