April Gene Smith, 35 of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on November 24, 1980 in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the daughter of Steve Gene Freeman and Lois Mae (Weaver) Freeman . On April 17, 2004 at the age of 23, April married Steven Keith Smith in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was a proud wife and mother of eleven year old Ashlyn Smith and nine year old Steven Smith Jr. April had a true love for her family and her children, she worked as a homemaker and enjoyed the time she was able to spend raising her children and home schooling them. She was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pryor. Her church family brought a great amount of joy to her life and she enjoyed attending service. She enjoyed riding bikes, hiking and she loved planting flowers. A loving wife, mother, and daughter. April was a blessing and she leaves behind a legacy for all to cherish. Funeral services for April will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Jerold Pilant officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. She is preceded in death by her grandparents.
