Arlie Eugene Potts, a hardworking and outdoorsy individual who cherished the beauty of nature, passed away at the age of 88 on August 23, 2023, in Inola, Oklahoma. Arlie was born on June 16, 1935, in Adair, Oklahoma. Arlie's adventurous spirit led him to serve in the United States Air Force, where he dedicated his time and efforts in service to his country. His bravery and commitment were admirable qualities that will forever be cherished by his loved ones. Throughout his life, Arlie found joy in various activities. He held a deep appreciation for boating and would often spend his days navigating the waters with a sense of freedom and tranquility. The thrill of riding motorcycles also brought delight to Arlie's days as he explored the open road. Fishing was another pastime that captured Arlie's heart.  As he reeled in his catches, he cherished these moments of peaceful solitude. One could often find Arlie happily mowing his yard, taking pride in maintaining its lush green appearance. His love for music resonated within him as well; he had an innate passion for playing the guitar alongside his brothers on the radio during his younger years. This harmonious connection with music brought joy not only to Arlie but to everyone who had the pleasure of hearing him play. An avid lover of technology, Arlie possessed an affinity for computers. Playing cards with loved ones was an activity dear to Arlie's heart. The laughter, camaraderie, and friendly competition reminded him of the bonds he held with those closest to him. These cherished moments created lasting memories that will be treasured for generations to come. Living on the lake brought Arlie a deep sense of contentment. The tranquil waters mirrored his inner peace and provided solace during both joyous and challenging times. The beauty of nature captivated him, and he found solace in its ever-changing presence. As an accomplished pilot, Arlie took to the skies, embracing the freedom and exhilaration that flying offered. His love for aviation was a testament to his adventurous spirit and his fascination with exploring new frontiers. Arlie Eugene Potts will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted individual who had a zest for life. His incredible journey touched the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, bravery, and unwavering love. Though we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary soul, let us also celebrate all the joy that Arlie brought into our lives. Arlie is survived by Viet De Frates of the home; sons, Arlie Potts, Jr., and wife Frona of Big Cabin, Oklahoma, Ricky Potts of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Tim Potts and wife Susan of Grove, Oklahoma, Marty Potts and wife Kelly of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Patrick Potts of Claremore, Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Penny McCollum and Al of Silvis, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Esther Potts; and brothers, Bill and Mackey Potts.
