Barbara Hawkes

Barbara Ann Hawkes, 80, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in Pryor. She was born on May, 9, 1930 in Dayton, New Mexico, the daughter of Reverend Gordon P. Stirling and Ollie Mae (Burrows) Stirling. She married James W. Hawkes on May 28, 1951 in Socorro, New Mexico. They moved from Alamagordo, New Mexico fourteen years ago and made their home here since that time. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Maglen #9 in Socorro, New Mexico. Barbara was of the Baptist faith. She loved her Lord and her family dearly. Barbara will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11 a.m., in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerold Pilant officiating. Interment will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011, in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Carroll Stone, Austin Roberts, Tres Hawkes, Matt Heathcock, Blaine Gerard and Cory Rogers serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers are Patrick Baca, Scott Horton, John Poe, John Mozingo and Ray Pence. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. She is survived by her husband James Hawkes of the home; her son, James Wesley Skie and wife, Vickie Hawkes of Pryor, OK; grandchildren, Tres Hawkes, Chad Hawkes, Toni Roberts, Barbara Heathcock and great grandchildren, Ashley, Caitlynn, Cayde, Ty, Camree, Payton; her brother, Gordon P. Stirling and wife, Margaret of San Diego, CA; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
