Barbara Ellen (Miller) Bontrager, 71 years, 9 months, 3 days, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on November 26, 1948 in Mayes County, to Crist and Clara Miller. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. On December 11, 1974, she married the love of her life, John M. Bontrager. They lived in Holy Matrimony for 45 years, 7 months, and 18 days. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the Clarence Miller Residence at 9749 S. 428 Chouteau, Oklahoma 74337 in Chouteau, Oklahoma with Bishop Clarence Jay Miller officiating. Viewing will be held also at the Clarence Miller Residence on Sunday 2-8 p.m., Monday from 2-8 p.m., and Tuesday before the service at 6:30 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service.
Barbara is survived by her husband, John M. Bontrager; children, John Jr. and Wilma Bontrager, Mary Susan and Lloyd Mast; Marjorie Bontrager, Joseph and Waneta Bontrager, Henry and Karen Bontrager; 22 grandchildren; step mother, Fannie Miller; sisters, Katie Mae Troyer, Susan and Robert Detweiler, Polly Kuhns, Ina Detweiler, Clara and Ervin Raber, Mary Edna and Alvin Graber, Wilma and Glen Yoder; brothers, Norman and Fannie Miller, Clarence and Edna Miller; sisters in law, Louvina Miller and Edna Miller; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandsons, Andrew Dale Mast and Matthew David Bontrager; parents, Crist and Clara Miller, brothers, Herman Miller, Albert Miller and Cristie Miller; brothers in law, Freeman Troyer, Eli Detweiler and Lester Kuhns; and sister in law, Fannie Miller.
