Barbara Tipton

Barbara Ann Tipton, 74, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on December 26, 1937 in Bristow, Oklahoma, the daughter of Steven Douglas Campbell and Vera Mae (Collier) Campbell. Barbara married George W. Tipton on January 27, 1955 in Miami, Oklahoma. She loved children starting with her own three and then the grandchildren. That love grew and created the TLC Childcare that she owned and operated for many years. So many children were touched by Barbara's love and care. She was very active in the church and with school activities, helping wherever and whenever needed. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was dearly loved by all who knew her. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Pryor with Dr. Mike Cox officiating and Glenn Lewis giving the Eulogy. Interment will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery near Grove with her grandchildren serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home on Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Tipton Jr. and wife, Karen of Norman, OK and Michael Tipton and wife, Tonya of Pryor, OK; her daughter, Dodie Slamans of Hominy, OK; nine grandchildren, Laura, Danielle, R. D., Jennifer, Thomas, Zach, Scott, Sarah and Brinley; and 1 great granddaughter on the way; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Vera Campbell; two sisters, Ruth George and Lucille Huffman; one brother, Robert Campbell.
