Bess Brooks

Bessie "Bess" L. Brooks, 89, passed away on August 26, 2013 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was born on December 9, 1923, the daughter of D.W. and Mattie (Gaylor) Lee in Winslow, Arkansas. Bess attended vo-tech and received her LPN license and worked for Grand Valley Hospital and also the Muskogee Veteran's Hospital. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Pryor, Oklahoma. Bess enjoyed working in her yard, raking leaves, and spending time outdoors. She loved spending time with her friends and family and being surrounded by those she loved. Bess will be remembered by all those wonderful memories she leaves behind and will be so missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the Pryor Church of Christ with Brother Steve Lay officiating. Interment will be in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Freddie Vivion, Charles Cobbler, Don Stafford, Chris Wilson, Tom Coats, and Jeff Lair serving as casket bearers. Bess is survived by her daughter, Rhonda and husband Ronny Brewer of Pryor, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Lorri Mitchell of Pryor, Oklahoma and Jason and wife Konya Brewer of Pryor, Oklahoma; and 3 great grandchildren, Kylee, Kaitlyn, and Kynleigh Brewer. She is preceded in death by her parents, D.W. and Mattie Lee, her husband, Tony Brooks, and 8 brothers and sisters.
