Bessie O'Field

Bessie O'Field, 82, of Salina, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Salina, Oklahoma. She was born on October 21, 1935 in Claremore, Oklahoma, the daughter of Nick Sanders and Daggie (Ballou) Sanders. She married Charlie O'Field on March 28, 1966. Bessie was a member of the Standing Rock Baptist Church and served as a Deaconess for many years. She also cooked for the church whenever needed. Bessie loved her Lord and her church, and enjoyed serving in any capacity. She enjoyed sewing. Bessie worked for the Salina School System as an aide for many years. She also worked for Gentiva as a nurse aide for several years. Bessie enjoyed going to Cherokee singings as would sing anytime she was asked. She enjoyed going to garage sales and especially enjoyed OU football. Probably more than anything Bessie loved her children and grandchildren. Watching them play ball and spending time together was her greatest joy. Bessie loved her Lord and prayed for her family and friends. She will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Little Rock Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma with Reverend Richard Budder and Reverend Raymond Snell officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Rock Cemetery with Patrick Petsemoie, Amos Ketcher, Dustin Dry, Jared Davis, Randall Davis and Charles C. Ketcher serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Ashton Budder, Logan Littledave, Brayden Littledave, Bobby Cade Jr., Wesley Snell, Jace Davis, Byron Dry, Sammy Dry and Warrick Bark serving as honorary casket bearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. with the Wake at 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon. She was survived by her daughters, Lenora O'Field of Salina, OK, Tonka and husband, Dennis Dry of Kenwood, OK and Martha Ketcher of Salina, OK and Pat and husband, Roger Petsemoie of Ada, OK; her brother, Nick and wife, Wynona Sanders of Pryor, OK; her sister, Carrie and husband, Richard Quinn of Salina, OK; 16 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Daggie Sanders; her husband, Charlie O'Field; one daughter, Carolyn O'Field; one grandson, Samuel Snell Jr.; one great grandson, Payton O'Field; three brothers, Charlie Sanders, Sam Sanders and John Sanders and wife, Dorothy; one sister, Jenny Sanders Pickup.
