Betty Jean McClure

Betty Jean McClure, former principal of Salina Elementary School, passed away on May 9, 2023, at the age of 79. She was born on September 24, 1944, in Muldrow, Oklahoma to her parents, Len and Maggie (Limore) Climer who preceded her in death. Betty will be remembered as a remarkable human being, who dedicated her life to education, community service and being a true friend to all who needed her the most.

In 1982, she married Homer McClure. They spent many wonderful years together, living in Alaska for 10 years and hosting a campground.

Betty's legacy as a principal is matched only by her dedication to the students in every school she ever worked for. Her colleagues remember her as a tireless educator who not only cared about academic success but also focused on their personal development. Betty was always willing to lend an ear and offer guidance when they faced difficulties in life.

Betty's kindness extended beyond her school community; she was always known for her generosity towards anyone, especially those in need. She would have gone above and beyond to help anyone without expecting anything in return. Her kindness knew no boundaries.

Betty's hobbies included hunting and fishing, which she enjoyed with friends and family members regularly. She loved spending time on her property, learning new things or relishing old times' memories with family or past students.

As she has left this world behind, she is survived by her son Randy Fears and Ryan Ball (friend). Although Betty has left this world behind and left us all with immense grief and sorrow, we should choose to celebrate the remarkable life she lived.

Betty Jean McClure will be missed by all those whose lives have been touched by her kindness and compassion. She will undoubtedly remain an inspiration for generations to come.
