Billie Jean Holland, 79, of Chouteau, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Tulsa. She was born on December 30, 1940 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma; the daughter of William Alfred and Letha Leno (McFarland) Woodruff. She married Art Eugene Holland on July 1, 1985. Billie worked for many years at the Mid-American Yarn Mill and in their later years, Art and Billie owned and operated a mobile home park. She looked forward to baking, especially pies, cakes and cookies, sewing, and working on genealogy. Billie was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Pryor and worked in the nursery for over 40 years at the church, taking care of many children throughout her years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend and leaves behind many memories for her family to remember.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in the Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove. Casket bearers will be Michael Sly, Johnny Sly, Juan Rubio, Joe Woodruff, Henry Thompson, Willie Summerlin. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 21, 2020 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Billie is survived by her sons, John Sly and Traci Rabbit of Salina, Oklahoma and Michael Sly and wife Laura of Chouteau, Oklahoma; daughter, Sherry Sly of Chouteau, Oklahoma; brother, Tommy Joe Woodruff and wife Vicki of Pryor, Oklahoma; sister, Deanne Thompson and husband Henry of Pryor, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Willie, Crystal, Rachel, Madison, Preston, Julia; numerous great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Letha Woodruff; husband, Art Holland; daughter, Pamela Rudd; brother, Roy Woodruff; and sister, Rita Bell Grace.
