Billie Warren Rogers, a devoted husband, a veteran, and a cherished member of the Pryor community, passed away on September 6, 2024, in Adair, Oklahoma. Born on October 4, 1946, in Pryor, Billie lived a life rich in service and love leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. Billie enjoyed a notable career, dedicating 31 years of his life to Midwest Carbide before embarking on another nine fulfilling years with Orchid Paper Products. His craftsmanship and dedication made him a respected figure in the workplace, where he was often known as a jack of all trades. Whether it was tinkering around his farm or welding projects, his hands were always busy creating and repairing, fueled by a passion for building and making things better. Beyond his professional life, Billie found immense joy in the great outdoors. Fishing, gardening, and hunting were not just hobbies but a way for him to connect with nature and share the beauty of the world with his loved ones. He cherished the quiet moments spent by the water, the satisfaction of a well-tended garden, and the thrill of a day spent in the woods. These pursuits brought him peace and fulfillment, reflecting his gentle spirit and love for life. Billie's heart belonged to Mary Ellen, the love of his life, whom he married on December 28, 1973, in Miami, Oklahoma. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect, and together they created a warm and welcoming home that echoed with the joy of family and friends. A proud Vietnam veteran, Billie served in the Army from 1968 to 1971. His commitment to his country was a source of great pride, and he carried the lessons learned during his service with him throughout his life. Billie’s character was shaped by his experiences, instilling in him a deep sense of loyalty, honor, and compassion for others. Billie graduated valedictorian of Adair’s class of 1964, highlighting his intelligence and determination. His legacy is one of hard work, kindness, and integrity, qualities that continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we remember Billie Warren Rogers, we hold on to the memories of his laughter, his quiet strength, and the love that he so freely gave. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy of love will be felt for generations to come.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen Rogers of the home; son, Dennis Shofler of Missouri; daughters, Amanda Odle of Salina, Oklahoma, and Amy Spears and husband Randy of Luther, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Marjorie Rogers, and sisters, Bonnie and Louise.

 Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2024, in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor with military honors being presented. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
