Billy Brown

Billy Gene Brown, 91 of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2017 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born December 15, 1925 in Salina, Oklahoma; the son of Roy and Bertha (Norman) Brown. Bill faithfully served in the United States Navy. He attended Northeastern State College in Tahlequah where he received his Bachelor's degree in education. Bill married Beatrice "Bea" Ferguson in Boatman on May 13, 1987. He loved to sing and sang in the choir of The First Baptist Church of Pryor where he and his wife are long time members. He retired from Midwest Carbide after 30 years. He looked forward to spending time with those he loved most, and cherished every minute he had to spend with them. He was a delight to be with, loved to laugh and joke around, always positive and lived life to the fullest. He has shared many memories for his family and friends to hold dear to and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2017 in the Shipman's Chapel in Pryor with Reverend Jerold Pilant officiating. Bill is survived by his wife, Bea Brown of the home; sons, Wayne Brown of Pryor, Oklahoma, Bruce Brown of Salina, Oklahoma; stepson, Dan Fuller of Pryor, Oklahoma, Michael Fuller of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Janice Hester of Claremore, Oklahoma; sister, Helen Sharp of Pryor, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Bertha Brown; sister, Audrey Hoskins; 1 stepson, David Fuller.
