Billy Clindining

Billy Clayton Clindining, 89, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on January 15, 1926; the only child of W.F. and Lucille (Sumrow) Clindining. Billy faithfully served his country in the United States Army from August 16, 1944 until June 30, 1946 and served in World War II in Europe. He married Morna Louise Yetter on February 26, 1954 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Billy received his Bachelors Degree from Oklahoma State University in Civil Engineering; he also owned a small engine repair shop in Claremore, Oklahoma. Billy loved to attend the Pryor Senior Center and was involved in the activities they had there. He was known as the "Candy Man" to all who knew him and enjoyed giving out pieces of candy to his friends and family. He also looked forward to watching Walker Texas Ranger and playing Bingo. He leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2015 in the Exciting Southeast Baptist Church with Pastor Rob Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa with Randy Harrison, Danny Harrison, Gary Harrison, Billy Austin, Eddie Austin and Greg Silva serving as casket bearers. . Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Billy is survived by his daughter, Tena and husband Allen Harrison of Claremore, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Teddy Clayton Clindining; his wife, Morna Clindining and special friend, Jeanne Wilkerson.
