Billy Vernon

Billy Joe Vernon, 75, of Pryor, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on November 8, 1939 in Wheat ridge, Colorado; the son of Leonard and Josie Faye (Templeton) Vernon. Billy enjoyed being a mechanic, especially when he was able to work on motors and cars. He also enjoyed working with heavy equipment. Billy was an OU fan and cheered them on whenever they were playing. He enjoyed the outdoors and working in his garden. Above all, Billy enjoyed spending time his family. He looked forward to each moment he had to spend with them. No services are planned at this time. Billy is survived by his wife, Linda Vernon of the home; 4 sons, Jacob Vernon of Pryor, Oklahoma, Keith Vernon of California, David Martin of Pryor, Oklahoma and BJ Martin of Pryor, Oklahoma; 1 daughter, Heather Vernon of Oregon; 2 brothers, William and wife Geraldine of Pryor, Oklahoma and Donald Vernon of Pryor, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Kathy Witlock of Missouri; 2 grandchildren, Desiree Warren and Kya Martin; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Josie Vernon, 1 son, 1 infant daughter, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
