Bonnie "Ethel" Gilpin, 77, of Big Cabin, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on October 16, 1937 in Pryor, Oklahoma, the daughter of Bill and Jewel (McCurley) Keith. Bonnie graduated from Pryor High School in the class of 1955. She married Melvin Gilpin on March 25, 1956 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Bonnie loved everyone and never failed to send everyone birthday, anniversary and get well cards from her calendar she kept. She was known as the cookie lady to many people. They had a grocery store and gas station for seven years, also working hay crews which Bonnie ran the business and cooked for all the hay crews. The grocery store was sold in 1975 when they purchased a dairy. After several years they sold the dairy. They raised beef cattle to this day. Bonnie was a wonderful homemaker. She loved her family and friends, as shown by her cookies and cards. She attended her grandchildren's sporting events and was active in their lives. Bonnie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church with Eddie Mathews officiating. Interment will follow in the Ghormley Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening, October 27, 2014. She is survived by her son, Billy and wife, Sarah Gilpin of Big Cabin, Oklahoma; her daughters, Bonnie and husband, Jack Kerr of Pensacola, OK and Sheri and husband, Perry Martin of Pensacola, OK; sisters, Mae Wolfe of Pryor, OK, Doris Hopper of California, Betty Smith and husband, William Pryor, OK; grandchildren, Bucky Gilpin, Becky Ohler, Brady Gilpin and wife, Jennifer, Jada Gilpin, Jack Kerr and wife, Tina, Jay Kerr, Brock Martin and Bryce Martin; great grandchildren, A.J., Jacob, Casey, Mason, Piper, Lear, Baron, Carmine, Caylee and Mykenzi; brother and sisters in law, Ray and Marsha Gilpin, Danny and Hazel Gilpin, all of Adair, OK; many other relatives and special friends to numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin William Gilpin, Dec. 15, 1998.
