Bonnie Elizabeth Deffenbaugh, 97, of Adair, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Vinita, Oklahoma. She was born on November 8, 1922 in Welch, Oklahoma; the daughter of Charles and Hattie (Ruggles) Curts. Bonnie lived in Mayes County all of her life and graduated as Valedictorian of the Adair High School Class of 1940. Bonnie married the love of her life, Frank, on May 31, 1942 and together they had 4 children; Carol, Marilyn, Dennis, and Cathy. She was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years and ran route 2 in the Adair and Strang area. She was a member of Adair United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending services there. Bonnie enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, and attending any sporting event. She was an avid bowler and was a member of many bowling leagues throughout her life. Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Graveside services for Bonnie will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Adair Cemetery. Bonnie is survived by her children, Dennis Deffenbaugh and wife Vicki of Langley, Oklahoma, and Cathy Palmer and husband Dink of Adair, Oklahoma; son in law, Fred Palmer; 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hattie; husband, Frank; brothers, Delbert and Charles Curts; and daughters, Carol Kassner and husband Phil, and Marilyn Palmer.
