Boyd True

Boyd True, 89, of Pryor, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 in Pryor. He was born on August 5, 1933 in Pryor; the son of Earl and Emma (Keith) True. He married the love of his life, Nina Scheetz, on August 6, 1954 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Boyd worked most of his life as a Dairy Farmer. He enjoyed spending time on his land and tinkering with things around the farm. He took joy in being able to fix things himself. In 2007, he shifted his dairy farming to beef cattle. Boyd loved visiting with people and when he greeted someone, it was always with a firm handshake. He was full of laughter, a little ornery, and was known for his big smile. Boyd never failed to put a good spin on an old story and share it with his friends and family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories for his family to cherish.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2023 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Josh True, Ryan Robinson, Tyler Howard, Nick Wilson, Danny Skidgel, and  Randy True, serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Carl Scheetz, Marvin Rhymes, Jerry Boswell, Bill Brown, Bruce Roberts, CB Newman, Colby Rohr, and Craig Sisson. Boyd is survived by his son, Sherman True and Linda Hill of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Sharon Robinson and husband Fred of Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren, Josh True of Salina, Oklahoma, Brittany Howard and husband Tyler of Pryor, Oklahoma, Stephanie True and Danny Skidgel of Pryor, Oklahoma; Ryan Robinson and wife Nicole of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Kelsey Wilson and husband Nick of Jordan, Minnesota; great grandchildren, Trueman, LilyAnn, RJ, Scarlett, Amelia, Julian, Kensington, and Eleanor, Colton, Junior; brother, LW True and wife Steve Anna of Pryor, Oklahoma; sister, Bernice Baisden of Claremore, Oklahoma; Brother in law, Carl Scheetz of Pryor, Oklahoma; sisters in law; Barb Sisson and husband Craig of Pryor, Oklahoma and Dorothy Boswell and husband Jerry of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
