Bryant Chicken

Bryant Chicken, 59, of Locust Grove, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019 in Tulsa. He was born on May 19, 1960 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the son of Luke Smoke, Sr. and Cora (Chicken) Thompson. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, working on cars, looking for crawdads and wild onions, and driving on the backroads. Bryant also looked forward to hanging out with his friends and spending time with those he loved most. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2020 in the Little Rock Indian Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Valdez officiating. Burial will follow in the McClain Cemetery with Tommy Wolfe, Joe Thompson, Tracy Salyers, Larry Fisher, David Jumper, and Tony Fencer serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers Brandon Littledave, Larry Blossom, Eddie Fisher, Lahwan Blossom, Jimmy Wolfe, Willie Blossom. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2020 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Bryant is survived by his daughters, Jolene Chicken of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Carissia Wolfe of Salina, Oklahoma, Alyssa Chicken of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Shanice Chicken and husband Jerrod Littledave of Salina, Oklahoma; significant other, Jackie Pickup of the home; brothers, Lewis Thompson, Jr. of Kenwood, Oklahoma and Luke Smoke, Jr. and wife Shannon of Wagoner, Oklahoma; sister, Angela Thompson of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; aunt, Betty Smoke of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; uncle, Ronnie Smoke of Strang, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luke Smoke and Cora Thompson, daughter, Rosella Chicken, grandson, Kayson Vincent, sister, Linda Jumper and sister, Lynette Bales.
