Burl Forkner

Burl Dean Forkner, 79, of Chouteau, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Pryor. He was born on June 8, 1939 in Jenks, Oklahoma; the son of Virgil and Gertrude (Weese) Forkner. He married John Ann Forkner on January 13, 1961 in Boatman. He worked as an Electro plater most of his life. Burl lived in Chouteau with his wife John, daughter, Norma and great granddaughter, Allora. He loved to hunt and would dabble a little with trapping, but his greatest love was bass fishing. Burl could talk bass fishing with you all day, it seemed like his world just crumbled when he could no longer go. Burl has left many broken hearts, because the family feels there is none other like him. Burl will be missed forever. Love you Kiddo!

Forkner of the home; daughters, Elizabeth Hayes of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Norma Forkner of Chouteau, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dixie Fern Littlesun and husband Jimson Shaw, Bobbie Jo Littlesun East and husband Chase East, Micki Moore and Husband Jason Moore, and Sadie Mae DeMauro and husband Wambleeska Williams; great grandchildren, Angel Nathan Scott Garcia, Gabreal Morgan Garcia, Teagen Colleen Shaw, and James Dean Shaw, Isaiah Linnell Rials, Darius Allen East, Landen Lee East, Nevaeh Lynn Smith, and Alexis Jo Smith, Kristen Chewey, Daniel Chewey, Elijah Fields, Lillian Chewy, Gwendolynn Chewey, Evelynn Chewey, Dacota Fields, Allora Sunsi Ray, Ayden Steven Ray, and Ayanna Shyawah Ray. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Gertrude Forkner, brother, Alonso Forkner and sisters, Norma Billingsly, and Lila Jordan.
