Carl Lee Ables, 76, of Locust Grove, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2018 near Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was born on October 11, 1942 in Pryor, Oklahoma; the son of, Luther and Ella Mae (Swafford) Ables. Carl married the love of his life, Anna Jo Blackwell on December 14, 1963 in Murphy, Oklahoma at the age of 21. He was of the Baptist faith and has lived in the Mayes County area most of his life. He worked as an estimator for Architectural Flooring for many years. Carl enjoyed spending his time outdoors, especially going hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the N.R.A. Carl looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving, kind and generous man who leaves behind many memories for his family and friends to remember.

Carl is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anna Jo Ables of the home; son, Carl Lee Ables, Jr. and wife Sarah of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; daughters, Teresa Ables of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Melissa Cook and husband Johnny of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Carla Koppenhaver and husband Randy of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; and Crystal Murrow and husband Cody of Alva, Oklahoma; brother, Marvin Ables and wife Sue of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; sister, Mary Lay of Langley, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Ella Mae Ables and daughter, Cheryl Sanders.
