Carl D. Kenedy, 77, of Salina, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 at his home. He was born on April 6, 1941 in Ellsworth, Oklahoma; the son of Ellis and Nellie (Hearn) Kenedy. Carl retired from Mayes County District #3 as an Equipment Operator. He enjoyed pig farming, spending time outdoors and barbequing ribs. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy for his family to follow.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2019 in the Welch Prairie Cemetery in Kenwood, Oklahoma with Reverend Lorne Beck officiating. Casket Bearers will be Timothon Heavener, Daniel Heavener, Tyler Myers, Andy Kerns, Marcus McCutcheon, and Javan McCutcheon. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 24, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Carl is survived by his son, Herbert Heavener, Jr. and wife Ruth of Kenwood, Oklahoma; daughters, Carla Adams and husband Charles of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, Barbara Kerns and husband Jack of Kenwood, Oklahoma, Allie Scott and husband John of Kenwood, Oklahoma, and Nelda Budder and husband Darrin of Kenwood, Oklahoma; brother, Glen Kenedy of Omaha, Nebraska; best friend, Melvin Pritchett; 3 grandsons and 7 granddaughters; 9 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Nellie Kenedy; wife, Dorothy Kenedy; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
