Carl King

Carl King, 89, of Adair, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at his home. He was born on September 30, 1925 in Adair, Oklahoma, the son of Thomas Jefferson King and Dorothy Irene (Bennett) King. He graduated from Adair High School. Carl married Lula Belle Bibles on January 6, 1962 in the First Christian Church in Chelsea, Oklahoma. As a younger man, he worked as ranch foreman for Guy Conners Ranch just north of Adair and later operated his own bulldozing business for over 20 years. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association. Carl owned and operated his own cattle ranch for many years. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He enjoyed taking hunting and fishing trips with family and friends. He enjoyed gardening. Carl loved time with family and friends during family dinners. He played dominos, checkers and pitch with family and friends. Carl leaves behind many wonderful memories for family and friends to cherish. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Tim Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the Ghormley Cemetery with Robert Bingham, Rusty Kemp, Tim Sibley, Canon Cole, Ray Gilpin, Bass Conseen, Kerry Stricklin, and Roger Stricklin as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearer will be Tommy Shawn. King of Adair, OK and Judy and husband, Robert Bingham of Adair, OK; grandchildren, Sarah Kemp and husband, Rusty, Jesse Haralson and husband Patrick and Summer Bingham; great grandchildren Chloe and Eli Kemp; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Belle King; parents, Thomas and Irene King; brothers, Arthur King and infant brother, Clarence King; sister, Evelyn L. Watkins; niece, Debbie King; nephew, Kevin Watkins.
