Carol Jean Whiteday Cooper, was born on January 9, 1947, in Pryor, Oklahoma. She passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in Salina, Oklahoma, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to her community and family.
A highly accomplished individual, Carol a proud graduate of Salina schools, where she distinguished herself as the valedictorian of the class of 1965. Her commitment to education extended beyond her own studies; she actively participated as the Co Salina 4-H leader and served on the Salina school board. Additionally, she was involved with the National Rural Carrier Association, reflecting her passion for service and civic engagement.
Carol's interests were diverse and colorful. She was known for her love of crafting, which brought creativity and joy into her life. As an enthusiastic supporter of sports, she was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Oklahoma Sooners, and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Her love of nature was evident in her gardening pursuits and her fondness for outdoor drives – particularly to observe deer and buffalo. Moreover, Carol was a self-proclaimed bigfoot enthusiast, frequently participating in related conferences that celebrated her fascination.
She is survived by her children, Tracy Sudduth and husband Steven of Broken Arrow, OK, and Randall Cooper of OKC, OK; mother, Bernice Whiteday; her brother, Buz Whiteday; her sister, Debby Whiteday; and her cherished grandchildren, Kelsey Littlefield, Alyssa Littlefield, Josie Littlefield, and Julianna Littlefield.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Warren G. (Bear) Whiteday, as well as her brothers, Jerry Whiteday and Kenny Whiteday, and her sister, Sondy Whiteday. Also, among those she has joined are her sister-in-law and good friend, Johnanna Condit Whiteday, brother-in-law, Bob Snow, and niece, Ginett Snow Hodges.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in the Ross Mayes Cemetery in Salina with Reverend Lorne Beck officiating. Greg Whiteday, Charlie Whiteday, Bobby Snow, Steven Sudduth, James Wood, and Carl McClure will serve as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers include Bradley Ontman and Brackston Sloan.
