Carol Hodgins

Carol Jean Hodgins, 71, of Salina, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011 at her home with her family at side. She was born on August 25, 1939 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lee Simmons and Grace (Henderson) Simmons. She married Charles (Chuck) Hodgins on May 2, 1958 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She worked for years in the insurance industry and enjoyed living in Florida and at the lake in Salina in her retirement years. She enjoyed her family most of all, but also enjoyed cooking, fishing, and the occasional trip to the casino. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel in Wagoner, Oklahoma with Reverend K. E. Gerhart officiating. Carol is survived by her daughter Kathy Sheehan and husband Mike of Salina, OK; Son Chet Hodgins and wife Debbie of Carrollton, TX; Brother Kenneth Simmons of Bossier City, LA; sister Barbara Knowles of Salina, OK; Brother Richard Simmons of Mesquite, TX; Granddaughters Heaven Schuette of Sabetha, KS and Shelby Getter of Salina, OK; one 2 week old great granddaughter Hadlee Lynn Schuette and a host of nieces, nephews and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck Hodgins; Sisters Juanita McCart, Loretta McGown, Jimmie Simmons and Brother Billy Dean Simmons.
