Carol Wagner

Carol Jean Wagner, 66, of Claremore, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was born on January 20, 1948; the daughter of Eugene and Rosalie (McKinney) Carter. Carol graduated from Adair High School in 1966 and married Waid Wagner on June 9, 1967. She graduated from NSU with her master's degree in Education on May 15, 1981 and taught Middle School English in Adair and High School in Foyil. Carol was a Stephen Minister with the Methodist Church and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Claremore. She loved to paint and do crafts. Carol was also an avid fan of Nascar and watching her son race at the Salina Highbanks Speedway. She loved her dogs and raising long haired miniature dachshunds. Above all, Carol loved her family and spending time with her Phillip, Kallie and her six grandchildren. She will be remembered by all the wonderful memories she leaves behind. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014 in the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Crawford officiating. Interment will be in the Adair Cemetery with Tim Kinion, Floyd Langley, Aaron Midgley, Nick Cramer, Devin Delozier, and Mike Dunham serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel. Carol is survived by her son, Phillip and wife Kallie Wagner of Claremore, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Karlye Wagner, Carter Wagner, Kelsey Haney, Wyatt Haney, Hattie Haney, and Tenetke Haney; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Waid P. Wagner Jr., sister, Donna Jean Carter, and her parents, Eugene and Rosalie Carter.
