Cathryn Ann Clampitt

Cathryn Ann Clampitt, 77, of Claremore, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Pryor. She was born on March 22, 1945, in Pryor, the daughter of James and Irene Roberts. She spent many years tending to the needs of others, earning her degree in social work from NSU and going on to serve those in Nowata and Rogers County. Before SafeNet, in the early 80’s and 90’s, she helped operate a domestic abuse shelter. Aside from dedicating her time to help others, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, going to Goodwill and garage sales. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, sons, and her dog, Daisy. She leaves behind many memories for all to cherish and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services for Catherine will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2022, at the Adair Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022, in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Usry, and Bill Usry, both of Claremore; 2 grandchildren, Kyle Wayne Usry and Jessica of Claremore and Sarah Jo Usry of Tulsa; and great grandchildren, Ava Usry, Alexis and Braxton Newman. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Irene Roberts; husband, Ray Clampitt; brothers, Gene and Bob Campbell; and sisters, Edna Locke, and Louise True.
