Cecil Barr

Cecil Leroy Barr, 65, of Vinita, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in Vinita, Oklahoma. Cecil was born on September 1, 1948 in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Vernon and Mary (Grubb) Barr. He worked as a Veterinary tech for many years in the Siloam Springs Veterinary Clinic. Cecil loved family and spending time with those he loved most. He enjoyed listening to music, especially country, oldies and Christian. Cecil loved the outdoors and to spend time fishing and shooting guns. He also enjoyed his pets. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be held at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013 in the Quapaw Tribal Community Center in Quapaw, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation, SPCA, and local hospices. Cecil is survived by his wife, Pat Barr, of the home; 4 sons, Randy Bradley of Arkansas, Shawn Barr of Miami, Oklahoma, David and wife Shelly Barr of Vinita, Oklahoma and Scott and wife Theressa Barr of Vinita, Oklahoma; 5 brothers, Tommy Barr of Joplin, Missouri, Herbie and wife Marilyn Barr of New Jersey, Doug Barr of Oregon, Vernon Barr of Oregon and David Vermillion of California; 2 sisters, Nona Foskhul of Dodge City, Kansas and Bunny Nash of Oregon; his stepmother, Georgie (Jo); 9 grandchildren, Shea, Justus, Jacob, Mitch, Alex, Tori, Sky, Angel and Devin; 2 great grandchildren, Ashlynn and Logan; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his in - laws.
