 Charlene Evelyn Walters, also known as Tay to her family, 93, of Salina, passed from this life on Monday, June 20, 2022, at her home. She was born on June 21, 1928, in Cardin, Oklahoma; the daughter of James and Edith (Sellars) Horn. She grew up as the third child and only daughter in the small town of Cardin along with her three brothers, Bill, Ken, and Don. She married Jim Walters on October 3, 1953 and spent 37 wonderful years with him until his passing on December 5, 1990. She was a woman with many talents including embroidery, needlework, and quilting. She enjoyed spending her time doing any type of crafting and had a love for animals. Most of all, she enjoyed reading her Bible and participating in Bible study. She leaves behind many memories for all to cherish and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Gayle and Ron Cater of Michigan; James and Virginia Horn of Iowa; Kendall and Claire Horn of Sublimity, Oregon; John Horn of Terrebonne, Oregon; Stephen and Debbie Horn of Cottage Grove, Oregon; and Priscilla Horn of California; and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Walters; parents, James and Edith; and her three brothers, Bill, Ken, and Don; and sisters-in-law, Jerry, Dorothea, and Marie.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor with Reverend DJ Craig officiating, along with Tom Merritt.
