Charlotte Ann (Peters) Tibbets, 79, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023, in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on June 11, 1943, in Pryor, Oklahoma, the daughter of Orville Wesley Peters and Wanda Lee (Vernon) Peters. She attended school in Welch and Pryor going on to attend college at NSU. She later attended Pryor Beauty School where she became a beautician working at several hair salons in Pryor. Charlotte married Alfred Cleo Tibbets on May 9, 1964 in the First Free Will Baptist Church in Pryor. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services for Charlotte will be heldheld on on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the First Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Rusty Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with William Hawkins, Dalton Akin, Dillon Akin, Brue Tibbets, Keiton Tibbets and Brayden Tibbets serving as casket bearers. Charlotte is survived by her son, Wesley Cleo Tibbets and wife, Marde of Locust Grove, OK; her daughter, Shelly Lee Hawkins and husband, Bill of Pryor, OK; her brother, Pete O’Bannon of San Antonio, TX; her sisters, Wanda Odle and husband, Charles of Pryor, OK, Orvilla Newton of Pryor, OK, Helen Sarfatis and husband, Peter of Pryor, OK and Debra Manley and husband, Keith of Pryor, OK; many grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Wanda Peters; her husband, Alfred Cleo Tibbets; her son, Joel Andrew Tibbets; her grandson, James Edward Hawkins; her great grandson, Joel James Andrew Bishop; sister, Rosetta Sherman.
