Clinton VanBrunt

Clinton Ray VanBrunt, 73, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at his home in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born to Leonard and Maude (Stamper) VanBrunt on January 7, 1939 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Clinton was in the United States Air Force and received an Honorary Medical Discharge in 1959. He loved to hunt, fish, spend time with his family and mostly mess with his horses. He was a member of the Iron Worker's Local Union #584. He worked Iron for 33 years in Oklahoma, Texas and California. Clinton married the love of his life, Linda Fae Craft on December 30, 1966. They were married for 45 years. Together, they attended the Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Terrisita, Oklahoma. Clinton loved to listen to gospel music and worshiping our Lord. He was in church every time with doors were open. Clinton was a proud father and grandfather of two children, Jamie Lynn McDaniel and John Taylor and four grandchildren, Patsy LaRae Maudlin of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Whitney Nicole Taylor of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Joseph Clinton Spencer Maudlin of Wellington, Kansas, Kayle Payton Taylor of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and one great grandson, James Braden McDaniel of Stillwater, Oklahoma. His children and grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He made sure he attended each activity of every child or grandchild. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Cornerstone Outreach Church in Locust Grove with Reverends Rick Kiddy and Jimmy Bell officiating. Interment will be in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor, Oklahoma with Ronnie VanBrunt, Finis Riggs, Darryl VanBrunt, Shane Davis, Brian Mayfield, Bob Huffman and Paul Sherwood serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers are Elbert Lee Hammons, Ted Pierce, Michael Ozment, Doyle Gower and Laney Messer. He is survived by his wife, Linda VanBrunt of the home; his daughter, Jamie and her husband, Brad McDaniel of Stillwater, OK; his son, John and wife, Chris Taylor of Locust Grove, OK; two brothers, James VanBrunt of Tulsa, OK and Ralph and wife, Joy VanBrunt of Venice, FL; two sisters, Wilma and husband, Jim Dunn of Murphy, OK and Dorthy Eanes of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren; one great grandson; several nieces and nephews; many, many friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Maude VanBrunt; three sisters, Ruby Tubbs, Marie Moore and Esta Gibson.
