Cord Colwell, 56, a beloved husband, father, papa, great papa, and friend passed away on September 25, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on May 22,1968, in Oklahoma City and spent his life embodying the values of love and kindness that touched everyone who knew him. Cord dedicated many years to working with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, where he served in various capacities, excelling in his role as a district conservationist. He remained committed to his work in environmental stewardship, leaving a lasting legacy of commitment and dedication. Cord was a proud graduate who attended Eastern College in Wilburton and Cameron College in Lawton, where he earned his bachelor's degree. His educational pursuits shaped not only his career but also his compassionate worldview. In 2003, he married the love of his life, Pam Brown. Their marriage was a testament to true partnership, celebrating 21 wonderful years together. Cord cherished every moment with Pam and fueled their relationship with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Cord loved to fish and hunt, with particular fondness for elk hunting trips to Colorado alongside his sons, experiences he eagerly looked forward to in the last three years. Those moments spent in nature were not just hobbies for Cord; they were cherished times filled with laughter and bonding that he treasured deeply. He had a deep love for the open sea, cherishing countless memories made on family cruises, where laughter and adventure brought them all closer together. Cord was always a great supporter of his grandchildren, never missing their sporting events. He took immense pride in watching them grow and excel, often lighting up with joy at their accomplishments. Family gatherings were always lively at Cord’s home, where he delighted in grilling and hosting Cajun boils and making his famous holiday season fried turkey . The aroma of delicious food, the sounds of laughter, and the thrill of game nights filled with dominoes defined many warm memories shared among family and friends. As we remember Cord, we recall his loving spirit, his kindness that seemed to extend beyond words, and the devoted father and grandfather he was.
