Cornelius Talbot

Cornelius William Talbot, 92, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on June 29, 1922 in Quinton, Oklahoma, the son of Lofton and Emma Talbot. He faithfully served his Country in the United States Army with the 777th Company C Tank Battalion during WWII. He married Catherine Chitwood on June 28, 1942 in Atoka, Oklahoma. After the service he attended barber school and owned his own shop in Oklahoma City. He attended college on the GI Bill and became an electronics engineer for McDonald Douglas Aircraft Co., transferring to Long Beach, California in 1971. Cornelius was an electrical engineer for the Boeing Company. He was a 32nd degree master mason, as well as, a Shriner with the Akdar Shrine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He moved from Long Beach, California two years ago. Cornelius enjoyed having his coffee and meeting new people. He enjoyed being outdoors in his garden. A loving father and grandfather who leaves many wonderful memories for all to cherish. Funeral Services for Cornelius will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014, at 10 a.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ken Gerhart officiating. Interment will follow in the Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove with Cody Talbot, Daniel Talbot, Joe Coleman, R. L. Couch, Charles Stewart and Phillip Douglas serving as casket bearers. Talbot Jr. and wife, Jan of Stilwell, OK; Jo Ann Douglas of Pryor, OK, Robert Talbot and wife, Rhonda of Snowflake, AZ and Chris Talbot and wife, Kim of Moorpark, CA; brother, Robert Talbot and wife, Sharon of West Covina, CA; 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lofton and Emma Talbot; his wife, Catherine Talbot; his daughter, Pamela Smith; three sisters and two brothers.
