Cristie Miller

Cristie C. Miller, 71, died at 5:33 p.m., December 14, 2015 at his home, in Chouteau, after a lengthy battle of cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Cristie was born on August 27, 1944 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Crist and Clara (Troyer) Miller. He was a retired dairy farmer and welder. Cristie was a Bishop in the Amish Church. He looked forward to spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He cherished each moment he had to spend with his family. Cristie also enjoyed fishing, welding, reading his Bible, picking pecans, flowers and horse riding. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Cristie will be held at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, December 17, 2015 in the Cristie Miller Home Place with Enos Yoder, Steve Lay and Orva Miller officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in the Cristie Miller Home Place. Interment will be in the Amish Cemetery in Chouteau, Oklahoma with Cristie's grandsons serving as casket bearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service. Cristie is survived by his wife, Edna Miller of the home; children, Ruth and husband Floyd Knepp of Inola, Oklahoma, Miriam & husband Jerry Beachy of Hutchinson, Kansas, Ernest & wife Linda Miller of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Rachel and husband Marlin Yoder of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Esther and husband Eli Gingerich of Inola, Oklahoma, Ervin Miller and special friend, Tamra Brixey of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Carolyn and husband Everett Wayne "Bub" Yoder of Chouteau, Oklahoma; 14 grandsons; 14 granddaughters; step mother, Fannie Miller; mother in law, Mary Yoder; siblings, Katie Mae Troyer of Pryor, Oklahoma, Herman and wife Louvina Miller of Whitewater, Kansas, Susan and husband Robert Detweiler of Inola, Oklahoma, Norman and wife Fannie Miller of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Polly Kuhns of Humansville, Missouri, Albert and wife Fannie Miller of Nappanee, Indiana, Ina and husband Eli Detweiler of Inola, Oklahoma, Barbara and husband John Bontrager of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Clara and husband Ervin Raber of Shipshewana, Indiana, Mary Edna and husband Alvin Graber of Kalona, Iowa, Clarence and wife Edna Miller of Chouteau, Oklahoma; and Wilma and husband Glen Yoder of Chouteau, Oklahoma; brother in law, Lloyd and wife Esther Yoder of Chatham, Virginia; sister in law, Vera Yoder of Chouteau, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Crist and Clara Miller; daughter, Clara Mae Miller, father in law, John Henry Yoder; three brother in laws; seven nephews and one niece.
