Cynthia Ann Kausek, loving mother, and recently retired water treatment plant operator, passed away at the age of 69. She was one of few women in the state of Oklahoma to be certified to operate a water treatment plant. She was very proud to hold a Class D license, and happy to serve the City of Claremore with over 20 years of service.
Cindy, as she was known to loved ones, was born on February 10, 1954, in East Cleveland, Ohio to Oliver Daniel Colclazier and Ann Marie Colclazier (née Dush). She was absolutely adored by her parents, who lovingly noted she was their miracle baby. As a child she loved to draw, write stories, craft items, and play music. She had a master’s in philosophy and a love for classical music. She was an accomplished guitar player.
On September 3, 1977, she married John Kausek. They were eager to start a large family and her children were Cindy’s greatest joy. She had an active social life: enjoyed hanging out with her friends, water aerobics, creative writing class, playing Bingo (she won several prizes), and crocheting gifts for her loved ones. She loved being a part of her community and helping the needy. She really loved children and adored her grandchildren and great grandbaby. Cindy loved animals, especially horses and she loved her dogs. She loved nature and watching red cardinal birds and squirrels.
Cindy also enjoyed photography. She was so happy to visit the Grand Canyon and Redwood Forest on a great trip with her son Chris and daughter-in-law Dana along with their two sons Bleyson and Aythen. She once offered a ride to a family in need. Along the way she asked them if they wanted food. She took them to Wendy’s, and they were very touched by her generosity.
Funeral services for Cindy will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Gaines officiating. Interment will follow at the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2023, at Shipman’s Funeral Home.
