Darell Meeks

Darell Rey Meeks, 54, of Adair, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 in Tulsa. He was born on December 29, 1962 in Pryor; the son of Oceola Jack Meeks and Flora Juanita (Lloyd) Meeks. Darell loved to watch television; especially when his favorite cartoons were on. He looked forward to watching Scooby Doo, Godzilla, Clifford, The Land Before Time, John Wayne and Power Rangers. He also liked being outdoors, going camping, spending time on the lake, hiking, and going fishing. Darell had a heart of gold and always a smile on his face. He enjoyed spending with his family. Darell will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Reverend George Ball officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Darell is survived by his mother, Juanita Meeks of Adair, Oklahoma; brothers, Sonnie Meeks and wife Cindy of Chouteau, Oklahoma and Dannie Meeks of Adair, Oklahoma; sisters, Dorothy Smith and husband Michael of Chouteau, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Meeks, Steve Meeks, Dana Corbett, Michael Smith, Janet Coger, Keith Meeks, and Kris Meeks; 14 great nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Oceola Jack Meeks, and sister, Debra Ackley; nephew, Jackie Darell Steffens and niece, Kristen Meeks.
