Darrell Coats

Darrell Francis Coats, 62, of Vinita, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Tulsa. He was born on October 6, 1956 in Vinita, Oklahoma; the son of Billie K. and Lucille (Williams) Coats. He worked as a welder most of his life. Darrell enjoyed spending time outdoors, enjoyed spending time at the lake, working on cars occasionally, also loved listening to country music, and playing pool. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Darrell is survived by his sons, Darrell Michael Coats of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Samuel Coats – Tomascheski of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; daughter, Crystal Coats of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; brothers, Lenord K. Coats of Pahrump, Nevada, Kenneth L. Coats of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and William Coats of Vinita, Oklahoma; sister, Pamela Mast of Woodbridge, Virginia; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea Long, Desirea Keener, Zoey Creel, Darrell Michael Coats II, Xander Coats, and Xoe Coats; and one great grandchild on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, Billie and Lucille Coats and wife, Linda.
