David Allen George III, 54, of Pryor, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born on July 1, 1959 in Pryor; the son of David Allen, Jr. and Oma Elizabeth (Dobbins) George. He graduated from Pryor High School, holding the title of State Champion Pole Vaulter. David grew up in the Church of Christ in Pryor. From a young age he enjoyed riding dirt bikes and winning in motocross races. As David got older, his love of dirt bikes grew into a love of motorcycles. He was known as the "Wheelie King of Mayes County." David also had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He liked to collect watches and especially John Deere items. David was a volunteer firefighter for the Pryor Fire Department and also worked for P & K Equipment. He loved his family and enjoyed every minute he had to spend with them. He will be remembered by all the memories he leaves behind and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 in the Pryor High School Auditorium with Reverend Lorne Beck officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2014 in the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel. David is survived by his wife, Sandra George of the home; one daughter, Heather Haley of Pryor, Oklahoma; three sisters, Janet and husband Larry Rowland of the Pryor/ Locust Grove area, Gail and husband Leo Nutter of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Lynn and husband Richard Farmer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Steven Bissell and Whitney Bissell of Pryor, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews and brother and sister in laws. He is preceded in death by his parents, David Allen George, Jr. and Oma Elizabeth George.
