David Lee Jumper, 59, of Salina, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at his home. He was born on August 12, 1959 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the son of Roosevelt Jumper, Sr. and Ella Mae (Smoke) Jumper. He worked as a mechanic most of his life and enjoyed working with his hands. David went to Spavinaw Schools and enjoyed trapping crawdads, working on cars, and hunting for wishie. He married Linda Chicken on May 11, 1981. David was a member of the Ribbon Baptist Church in Spavinaw and enjoyed attending church services. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who leaves behind many memories for his family to cherish.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018 in the Ribbon Baptist Church in Spavinaw. Burial will follow in the Euwasha Cemetery with Billy Smoke, Issac Jumper, Mark Proctor, Brice Jumper, Jayce Sharp, and David Arneecher. Honorary casket bearers will be Roosevelt Mora, Terry Sharp, Cherokee Sharp, Dyson Jumper, and David Wayne Jumper. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at David’s Residence in Salina. David is survived by his wife, Linda Jumper of the home; mother, Ella Mae Jumper of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; son, David Jumper and girlfriend Julia Dry of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; daughters, Dianna Jumper of Kenwood, Oklahoma and Melissa Jumper of Kenwood, Oklahoma; brothers, John Jumper and wife Evelyn of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, Roger Jumper and wife Mary Ann Jumper of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, Leonard Jumper and wife Tilitha of Jay, Oklahoma, and Roosevelt Jumper and wife Sheila of Pryor, Oklahoma; sisters, Rosenell Russell and husband Joe of Salina, Oklahoma and Darlene Jumper of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 2 uncles, Louie Smoke and wife Maxine of Kenwood, Oklahoma and Charles Smoke and wife Betty of Kenwood, Oklahoma ; aunt, Roberta Hair and husband John of Kenwood, Oklahoma; 3 special friends, Devon Jumper, Kimberly Jones and David Arneecher; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Jumper, Sr.; brother, Darryl Jumper, and daughter, Lydia Mae Jumper.
