David Love

David Theron Love, 76, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born on September 18, 1940 in Athens, Ohio; the son of William and Jean (Clark) Love. David faithfully served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, serving in Japan for 4 years, and many other places throughout his Military time. After being honorably discharged, David served as a Police Officer and Narcotics Border Patrol Officer, as well as many other duties within the Police force for 26 years. He also worked as a prison guard and psychological counselor at various New York Prisons, and had many stories he loved to tell of those days. He had a strong love for God and walked by faith every day. David loved going to the gun range and a love for firearms. He was a Vietnam POW and was an American Legion Rider (Chapter 20). David loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, it was a way of enjoying the great outdoors. He never met a stranger and always would greet you with a big smile and leave you with an even bigger thumbs up. He married the love of his life, Vonnie Graham, on January 3, 2017 at their home in a small ceremony. The love they shared was something special, that he held so dear and was proud to tell his friends and family the story of their love. Together, they had 3 dogs, Lily, Ellie, and Kiwi, that were also so very special to David. He looked forward to spending time with those he loved most, and cherished every minute he had to spend with them. David was a delight to be with, always positive and lived life to the fullest. He has shared many memories for his family and friends to hold dear to and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery with full Military honors being presented. David is survived by his wife, Vonnie M. Love, of the home; sons, Kevin Love of Tennessee, Scott Love of California and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Jean Love; brothers, John Love and Barry Mark Love.
