David Arthur Swartz, 73, of Pryor, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 in Salina, Oklahoma. He was born on November 30, 1940 in San Antonio, Texas; the son of Arthur and Carlie (Baker) Swartz. He received his associate's degree in nursing, served as a medic in the U.S. Navy and owned his own insurance company. Growing up in Dallas, Texas, he had a passion for music and was the lead guitarist in the band the Nightcaps. The group had regional hits including "Wine, Wine, Wine" and "Thunderbird," which influenced many famous Texas musicians. He also enjoyed making crafts and painting. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with those who meant the most to him. He will be remembered for all the wonderful memories he leaves behind and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. David is survived by his daughter, Carla and husband Mark Armontrout of Pryor, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Kelsey and Allison Armontrout; one sister, Mary Freeman of Austin, Texas; two nieces, Linda Freeman and Donna Graves and one nephew Danny Freeman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Carlie Swartz.
