Debbie Ackley

Debra "Debbie" Kay Ackley, 60 of Chouteau, passed away Thursday, September 01, 2016 in Tulsa, Ok. She was born on May 19, 1956 in Pryor, Ok; the daughter of Oceola (Sonny) Jack Meeks and Flora (Trigger) Juanita Lloyd. On August 29, 1981, she married Kenneth (Kenny) Ackley in Salina, OK, at Snow Dale Park. Debbie and Kenny made excellent hunting partners, (she was a great marksmen). She had a passion for traveling and the outdoors, one of her favorite places was the Colorado mountains and getting to see the Aspen trees in the fall. She was very close to her family and especially her grandchildren and enjoyed sitting outside watching, wildlife, such as, squirrels, hummingbirds, and deer. Not only did she like the wild life, but she enjoyed twinkling lights, fast old cars, beautiful paintings, Tiffany lamps, (collecting antique glass) and going to garage sales and flea markets. Debbie loved her family and looked forward to spending her time with them. She cherished each moment she had to spend with them. Her disposition was being positive, always smiling and having a bubbly attitude. People that knew her would say her laugh would light up a room. She will be remembered by all the wonderful memories she leaves behind and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Preston Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Devon Johnson, Stephen Johnson, Robert Coger, and Kyle Ackley serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 5, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. She is survived by her husband, Kenny Ackley of the home; mother, Flora (Trigger) Meeks of Adair; two daughters, Janet and Robert Coger of Locust Grove, and Pam and Stephen Johnson of Locust Grove, Ok; brothers, Dewayne and Cindy Meeks of Chouteau, Ok, Dannie Meeks of Adair, Ok, Darell Meeks of Adair, Ok.; sister, Dorothy and Mike Smith of Chouteau, Ok; brother in law, Roger and Annette Ackley of Adair, Ok, Glen Ackley of Adair, Ok; father in law, Jack Ackley of Adair, Ok; Grandkids, Chelsea, Preston, Brandon, Devon, Kyle, Mackinzie and one great grandchild, Kaden. She is preceded in death by her father, Oceola (Sonny) Meeks; son, Jackie Darell Steffens; mother in law, Helen Ackley. Her family wants to give a big thank you to Deb's doctors, nurses, Seasons hospice and Clarehouse - Tulsa.
