Dell Wilkins

Dell Ann Wilkins, 73, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in Chouteau. She was born on September 25, 1941 in Marrietta, Oklahoma, the daughter of Melvin Wilson and Rebecca ( ) Wilson. She moved from Marietta, Oklahoma 53 years ago to make her home in Chouteau. She married Thomas Wilkins on October 18, 1968 in Benton, Arkansas and had celebrated over 46 years together. Dell was a cosmetologist and operated her own business, Ann's Beauty Barn in the mid 70's. She worked with the Whitaker Children's Home in Pryor for awhile. She and Tom drove as team drivers for J.B. Hunt, driving big rigs for some time. She loved being around horses and her Chihuahuas. Dell loved her large family and all the time she spent with them. The family wants a special Thank You to her daughter, Pam, for taking such special care of their mom. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Rick Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Wesley Perkins, Michael Perkins, Ryan Sellers, Chris Chavez, Kelly Upp and Cliff Tipton serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers are Matt Mehan, Adam Johnson, Austin Johnson and Cody Osborn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening. She is survived by her husband, Tom Wilkins of the home; her children, Mark and wife, Andrea Perkins of Chouteau, OK, Rebecca and husband, Matt Wingard of Yukon, OK, Tonja Johnson of Chouteau, OK, Amy and husband, Leroy Linam of Chouteau, OK, Pam and husband, Mike Thornton of Chouteau, OK; 23 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters.
