Delores Diane Caldwell, 77, of Locust Grove, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on January 6, 1943 in Taft, California; the daughter of Marvin and Maggie (Haggard) Coger. On March 5, 1961, Delores married the love of her life, Gus, in Salina, Oklahoma at Chimney Rock Holler Road. Delores was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed going to the casino, crocheting, and canning food. Delores made it her mission to teach her sons, Joe and James how to cook. Some of her family’s favorite dishes that she made were fried chicken, taco casserole, and her dressing that she made for every family Thanksgiving. In her younger years, she looked forward to camping and swimming in Saline Creek. They also went out to Lake Tahoe to visit relatives each year. Delores worked at several places around the Mayes County area, mostly working for Wilson-Cunningham Funeral Home in Locust Grove as a secretary and in the Pryor Hospital as a monitor tech. She was a member and youth director at Locust Grove Baptist Church for many years. Delores was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother; she will be dearly missed by those who loved and knew her.

Delores is survived by her husband, Gus, of the home; sons, Joe Caldwell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, James Caldwell and wife Vickie of Adair, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Maggie, her sister, Francis Rupe, and her brother, Joe Coger.
