Delores Martin

Delores Joan Martin, 86, of Pryor, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Tulsa. She was born on October 2, 1930 in Struggleville, Oklahoma; the daughter of Richard and Mary (Meeks) Fanning. She graduated Healdton High School in 1948. Delores married Jack Martin on November 18, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She retired from Western Cartage, Inc in 1981 and also worked for Rocket Freight Lines as a secretary. Delores enjoyed bowling, fishing, and cooking. She also looked forward to playing bridge and watching sports, especially tennis. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor D.J. Castoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Jay Martin, Keith Martin, Chris Martin, Greg Whitlock, Jimmy Montgomery, and Bill Huff serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Delores is survived by her son, Jay Martin and wife Karesa of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Melissa Martin of Pryor, Oklahoma; brothers, Richard Fanning and wife Christine of San Luis Obispo, California; grandchildren, Keith and Ida Martin, Pam and Greg Whitlock and Chris Martin; great grandchildren, Addisyn Whitlock, Kinzi Martin, and Brynn Martin. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Martin, brother, Travis Fanning, and sister, Dixie St. John; parents, Richard and Mary Fanning.
